MSM Love Affair

Republican distress over the Obama campaign’s press tactics and the MSM’s (now a derogatory term from both directions) love affair with Obama seems to me to be a little like Yankee fans complaining about the size of the Mets’ payroll, particularly after 8 years of the hard core dissembling and misleading that has characterized the W. Bush train wreck.

Let’s not forget Jeff Gannon, fake VNR’s, and the Plame Game to name just a few. And of course wmds, yellow cake, and the larger issue of lying a nation into war. (Maybe the MSM has had a new surge of responsibility after being duped so bad on that one). Old news you say? The New York Times is reporting today on the military’s efforts to control the flow of images from Iraq – which is in synch with the Administration’s ongoing ban of television coverage of returning Iraq war coffins. And, Think progress has a nice post, “McClellan: Fox News Commentators Use The ‘Talking Points’ That The White House Sends Them.” (One would assume that Fox News is outside of this MSM that is in love with Obama).

So maybe Obama’s well managed campaign points to competence in governing. That would certainly be refreshing. At least we can be certain that he is aware that Iraq has no border with Afghanistan.

  1. David Landau Says:

McCain’s behavior during Obama’s foreign tour was really most unskillful. The best thing would have been for him to lie low or, if asked to comment about Obama’s adventures, merely said, “We’ll talk about it when he gets home.” Instead there was all that farting and complaining. How unpresidential. If it’s a choice between a 46-year-old parvenu and a 72-year-old with wisdom, that’s one thing. But between a 46-year-old who has the capacity to mature, and a 72-year-old who’s acting out, there seems to be no choice at all.
