Welcome! I’m Richard Pollock, one of those many people who arrived in Washington, D.C. a long time ago — in 1969 — and never left. I guess I’ve had Potomac Fever for life.
There is a cure for this ailment, but I’m told NIH is still in clinical trials…
Currently, I’m the founder of Next Generation Advertising, which became a living reality in 2004. We are a communications firm that utilizes video and social media to provide our clients with a more creative and flexible set of messaging options.
In 1993 I was fortunate enough to win a Daytime Emmy in my role as the Washington producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.” At ABC I covered the White House, Congress and the Pentagon for eight years.
I later was asked to be the senior producer of Fox News Sunday with Tony Snow.
While executive vice president of Shandwick Public Affairs, a global public relations firm, I counseled CEOs, presidents, and senior executives at Northrop Grumman, Monsanto, the Scotts Company and the Ford Motor Company/Venezuela.
In 2001 I was vice president for communications at the think tank, the Cato Institute.
So for about 30 years I’ve played around in network television, media relations, and advertising. A few of my musings have been published in the New York Times and Washington Post, and I have appeared on a number television news shows, including CBS “60 Minutes,” ABC’s “20/20″, MSNBC and the PBS program “The MacNeil-Lehrer Show.”
Now I guess you can see my current mutterings here. Hope you enjoy them.
